Japanese Shadowing is designed to work locally in your browser. You can paste text, listen, and record yourself without creating an account.
Your Japanese text and voice recordings are not sent to a Harpd server.

Japanese readings are generated in your browser using a locally downloaded dictionary. The text itself is not submitted to a reading API.
Microphone access is requested only when you start shadowing. Recordings remain in browser memory for playback and are not uploaded.
The current product has no account, cloud lesson sync, pronunciation scoring, or server-side TTS service.
Your controls
Use “New text” in the practice workspace to clear the current lesson. You can also remove site data through your browser settings.
